The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a mobile app for Aadhaar card users called mAadhaar. The app will allow users to use their cards without carrying them in a physical form.
The app is available on Google Play Store (supports Android 4.4 KitKat or more), and make sure you download the app which is made by UIDAI, as there are multiple fake apps strolling around there. In February 2017, UIDAI reportedly shut down 12 websites and 12 apps available on Google Play store. These apps and websites were allegedly offering Aadhaar-related services illegally and charging excessive money from the public. So, what does the mAadhaar app offer and how does it work? Note – Registered Mobile Number is essential to use mAadhaar app. In case your mobile number is not registered with Aadhaar visit the nearest Enrolment Centre/Mobile Update End Point.
